…about being a real estate agent, or working for yourself, is that the only person you have to account to is yourself. So when I have been out sick the last four days, I don’t have to worry about calling a boss and pleading for time off, or waste sick days either. Having been in the corporate world before I can remember how guilty I would feel if I got sick, and how stressed out I would get by taking the time off. Now, no more. I can rest stress-free and get well. Being a real estate agent isn’t easy, but there are obvious perks that come with the job. Now that I am well again, I will be punching out some posts this week to further entertain you, I just apologize for not blogging for a few days. Maybe I should have asked Teresa Boardman to blog for me in my absence?

Jennifer – I have written posts for people who were sick, had a family member die or who wnet on vacation. If you ever need a hand just ask. I through my back out a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t walk. It was nice not to have to call in sick but I wasn’t able to make any money either. My clients were very understanding and a realtor friend of mine was able to show some houses to one of my buyers.

Thanks Teresa! You must have google alert on or something. 🙂 Yes, the one negative is that you can’t make any money when you don’t work. I have found most of my clients are very understanding and will wait for me to get better. I did have one buyer who wanted to look at homes the day after my first son was born a few years ago, and wouldn’t take no for an answer…so I referred them to another agent. I don’t get sick but maybe twice a year, so next time, I might just take you up on your offer.
